Well just found out I'm going to have a baby! I'm due in January and I still have quite a ways to go but I am very seriously considering cloth diapers. I didn't do that with my 3 year old and very deeply regret it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips or support? Feel free to comment or add me! I'm also looking for any other communities on here as well!!

Question : Moving Up

I was wondering if any moms who use BumGenius One-Size Pocket Diapers could help me figure out when to move my daughter up to the next snaps. She's almost 8 months and almost 20 lbs right now. Thank you.

Has anyone dealt with complications regarding cloth diapers and hospitals? My sister just had her first baby and the hospital refused to allow her to bring in her own cloth diapers. Actually, it was the nurse. They told her it was not standard practice and that it wasn't as sanitary and they prefer she use disposables. I thought this was a bit odd, so I'm asking around to see if anyone else had these issues. This was at an Indiana hospital btw.

Has anyone used the Disansa Tie-On Organic Cotton Nappy system?

The system works this way:

1. disana tie-on, knit nappy
This is the actual nappy. Made of pure cotton, it absorbs most of the fluid and retains it inside its fibers.

2. disana flannel liner
Also made of cotton, it absorbs the remaining moisture and keeps the baby dry for a long period of time.

3. disana paper liner
Used on top of the cotton liner, this will retain the heaviest soiling.

4. disana knit, wool nappy cover
This provides the watertight outer covering for the diaper. Made from soft, pure sheep's wool, it absorbs without itself ever becoming wet.

it seems cool and i'm interested.

Serving up a helping of crow

So I have been avoiding a certain brand of diapers, we'll call them Moodgamas, because they were so... built up.  They had almost reached mythical proportions and the price tag was a little more than I felt comfortable spending on a poo catcher.  I admired the cute prints and appreciated the genius marketing, but I wasn't going to buy into the hooplah.  After reading reviews, I purchased a diaper that seemed similar and had positive feedback and I was content.  It was a lovely diaper and I felt it had been a solid purchase.  After a few suggestions an a bit of pleading, my mom agreed to buy me some of these "too good to be true diapers" (I said I wasn't going to buy them; not that other people couldn't buy them for me).

HOLY COW!!!  They're awesome.  How has my baby lived to the ripe old age of 9 months without these!  Hot dang, I gotta find me a second job so I can start a proper stash!!!  Seriously, I love them.  I wanted to be all jaded and "meh" but I'm totally hooked.  Super awesome and really worth the price for the workmanship and versatility.  Not to mention, the absorbency is super-duper.

Hi!

Hi.  I'm new here.  miss_elisha  invited me to be a member because we've known each other for a couple of years and she knows I'm a CD mama.  In fact, she helped point me in this direction when I was considering using cloth.

I have three kids, ages 10, 3.5 and 9 months.  my 9 month old is the only one I've used cloth on, but if I had known how easy and painless CDing was I would have gotten on board much sooner!  I started out with prefolds because I was especially focused on the financial/money savings aspect of cloth, although the other benefits are definitely a factor as well.  Six month later I find that I'm addicted to all the fun cloth diapering goodness.  I tell myself it's still a wise investment because I'm planning to have more kids.  Yes, I AM Catholic, why do you ask?

I have expanded my stash to include a few Blueberry AIOs, Peanut Butter & Ellie preflats, Dream-eze AOIs, Kiwi Pie Baby fitted OS OBV and now... Goodmamas!

My very own good mama ordered me Goodmamas!  I'm so tickled I've been wearing a perma-grin for the past hour.  She has warned me the diapers might be my birthday and Christmas presents for the next year, but that's just fine because my little one will still be wearing his Kenya, Dog Friendly and Mountain Express GMs!

I found this link while stumbling - it has some good information on cloth diapering, including laundering and cloth diaper must-haves etc.
